Celebrate Good Times, Come on!

So, after getting our wonderful news yesterday (that we're having a boy... if you missed that fact) Brett and I decided to paint the town "blue" last night! We started off with a great dinner at Olive Garden (which took us about 20 minutes to find.... dang being in a new place!) Then we walked on over to Target to buy Michael's 1st outfit! I was SO excited! Then after our time in Target, we headed over to our favorite ice cream shop... Cold Stone and both got our new favorite treat there. The Strawberry Milkshake. Holy Cow! Now, normally, I would be all about the chocolate shake, or the oreo shake, etc. But last time we came, Brett got the strawberry shake and it's unbelievable! I have been craving them ever since. So, after a great dessert, we headed home to watch Ocean's Eleven. Great movie.... too bad I couldn't stay awake for it! But to give you a little glimpse of our fun outing last night, here's a picture of Michael's 1st outfit!

Ok, seriously... is this not the cutest little thing you've ever seen??

Toto, we're not in Provo anymore....

Yes, Toto, this is what we're dealing with out here in Arizona. We got an e-mail from campus a few days ago, telling us that a family of Javelina Pigs had been located on campus, and had been spotted by the on-campus housing. Ahhh, lovely thought, isn't it?

Brett and I did a little research on our good friends last night, and boy, what amazing things we discovered! Did you know that every time they open and close their mouths, they sharpen their lovely tusks? Yes. They can also run VERY quickly. Meaning that my little pregnant frame could not outrun one of these suckers. Luckily, they tend to avoid humans, unless you try to stare one down, like our friend Adam did. Then you better pray you have the strength and the speed to outrun this sucker.

So, not only is Brett getting a great medical education, we are learning new things about our world on a daily basis. Thank you Arizona, for introducing us to the wonderful world of crazy little javelinas!

Update #4..... Arizona!

Ok! Well, we are all officially moved in and really loving our new place of residence. I was very skeptical at first because we seemed to have a lot more stuff than our new apartment could hold. However, we have made it all fit, and are very proud of the outcome. We're also excited because we (hopefully.... if all goes as planned, and our baby isn't shy....) get to find out what gender our baby is!! Woo! Friday morning, we will hopefully know if we're having a Michael or a Brooklyn. So, I took these pictures so my mom could "visualize" us in our new apartment. I'm putting them up now, because I think our house is stinking cute :) So, here's your virtual tour of our new house.
Here's a shot of the front door/living room area.
Here's our kitchen. It looks pretty big, right? Well, when you walk in the front door, this is what you see. PRESSURE! That means I have to keep my kitchen clean at all times, because it's the first thing you see when you walk in my house.....

Here's the hallway leading to the rest of our apartment. The bathroom in the door on the left, Baby's room is the door on the right. The door straight back is our bedroom.

What a cute bathroom!

Here's a shot of Baby's room. I am actually sitting in this room right now, at that very computer :) Can you just visualize me there??
Another shot of baby's room. There's the crib (and yes, that's a carseat in the crib.... but it will be out in the car by the time Lil' Baby arrives.) Don't worry, we've got our priorities straight!

Here's a shot of our great bedroom. We're so excited to be able to WALK around in this room! Our room at our old apartment was a TON smaller. We love Arizona!

Another quick shot of our room.
So, all in all, that is our little apartment! Brett has officially made it through his first week of classes, and while drained, he made it! He's done a great job of having motiviation to study, and trying to make time for me :) We had a great weekend filled with swimming, ping pong (and yes, I am now the Arizona Champion as well as the Idaho and Utah Champion of Ping Pong!! Who knew I had such a great talent hidden away like that??) and a lot of vegging out and relaxing to get him ready for another week!
We also had the chance to speak in our new ward yesterday. While I felt like I was going to have a severe heart attack the whole morning, I was able to make it through the talk, and even throw a little humor in there once in a while :) Brett did a fantastic job talking about sharing the gospel. But he said now that he's talked on it, we actually have to start doing it. What is that about? Just kidding, we're having the Sisters over for dinner next week, so that will be a start. We love our new ward, people have been SO friendly and welcoming.... we're starting to feel really at home here! So, until Friday, and the news of Lil' Baby.... have a great week!

Update #3..... The Olympics!

Ahhh, the Olympics! Brett and I decided to host an Olympics Event. We had about 10 different events and invited the Haydens, and Alexanders over to be a part of it. Brett and I were representing Brazil, Kori and Derek represented Mozambique, and Christine and Nick were Jamaica. After much stress, strain, and determined hard work, Team Brazil was able to conquer :)

Here was one event (the bubble blowing contest, I think) where Brett took the gold, Nick took silver, and yours truly with the bronze.

Here's Brett and I at the end of the Olympics, winning our All- Around win. Notice how many medals Brett has..... he was like Super Man! I only had my 3 medals, but it was a gold, silver, and bronze, so I was happy.
Brett showing off his amazing spread of medals. Did I mention he seemed like Super Man?
Someday, when I am cool enough, I'm going to figure out how to download videos, I will download the amazing video footage of this event. (hopefully, that day will be sometime soon.)
What a fun, fun, night. Thanks for making memories with us!

Update #2..... GRADUATION!

Here he is...... the amazing graduate! Brett graduated on April 25, 2009. Well, actually, he officially graduated in December. However, since BYU is awesome and doesn't offer a commencement exercise in the winter, he had to wait to walk until April.

Here I am with the cute little Graduate...

Here's the graduate with his mom and dad.
Here he is with his cute sisters:

This is one of my favorite pictures of the whole day....
Congrats to you! We're so proud of you and your accomplishments! Only 2 more years until we get to see you in a graduation cap and gown once again :)

Update #1 (of the many to come....)

Ok, so like I told you....we are all unpacked and I promised the update of your life, so let's get started!

We are going to go back in time to the 3rd week of April. Are you there? Ok, this is the week that Brett and I celebrated our 1st anniversary together. Yes, we celebrated a week early, but it was my spring break, so we had to take advantage of the time we had. We decided to celebrate big time by going up to The Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake, seeing Wicked at the Capitol Theater, and going to an amazing dinner at The Roof in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Whew! It was SOOOOOOOO amazing!

Here are some pictures of our AWESOME time for our anniversary.

This is the entrance to our BED. Not just the room, to the BED. Our first night we stayed in the "Mysteries of Egypt" room. It was just like a pyramid. SO COOL!

This is Brett on our bed. Notice that there are two statues on either side of the bed. We were very protected as we slept :)

This is a little statue we had in our room in the main entrance way. I couldn't believe how awesome the whole room was. From the outside, the Anniversary Inn looks pretty dumpy, but HOLY COW! The inside is amazing!

So our bathroom was very interesting. We had a visitor with us the entire time: King Tut. Not to mention that they sawed him in half and used his legs as our sink. Very interesting.....

So.... I got a little carried away with some bubble bath, and this was the result :)

So the next night, we got to switch rooms and we had the opportunity to stay in the "Swiss Family Robinson" room. It was amazing! Our bed was in a TREE! Luckily, it had rope all the way around it, so I was not afraid of falling.... it was the most comfortable bed EVER. I could have stayed in that room for a very, very, very long time :) Here are the stairs up to our bed....
Here's a view of the bed from down on the ground. See how high up it is?
Our bathtub was AWESOME! It had a waterfall for a shower! Seriously, this room was the coolest.
The little nook underneath our bed tree....
A view of what our bed really looked like. Oh, I wish we could go back!
We were so excited about going to The Roof.... we didn't take any "after" pictures because we were too full to do ANYTHING but sit in bed and watch movies for the rest of the night.
Our last hoorah outside the Inn. We made some poor girl from the front desk come and take the picture for us!
So, that was our amazing anniversary trip. I don't think we'll ever be able to top this trip (nor will we ever have the funds to do this again!) It was so much fun to have a big, exciting trip before coming out to Arizona :)
