Life

So, just in case you missed the memo... we moved.  Yep, my dream FINALLY happened and we are now back in Colorado!  Brett has an amazing new job at a community health center and I'm only 2 1/2 hours away from my family!  

We LOVE it here.  We have been so impressed with our new ward-- they have been ridiculously welcoming and we're hard at work already!  I got called as the choir director, music chair and RS pianist, and Brett's calling has been accepted, but he hasn't been sustained yet... intrigue... you'll have to wait another 6 months until I blog again to find out what he's doing :)

Beside the fact that it snowed every week for the first month we were here, we are adjusting to the weather and the beauty of our city VERY QUICKLY.  Spring has finally come and the trees, grass, and flowers make me SO happy.  We have a sweet view of Pikes Peak from one of our upstairs rooms and I LOVE being by mountains again, it is so beautiful!

So anyway, some people have been bugging me about putting pics of the new house up.  We pretty much finished unpacking the first week we were in the house.  My mom was there and we got SO much done!  However, I just finished the finishing touches this week.... so..... drumroll..... our new house!

 My CRAFT room!  My favorite room in the whole house!  Everything I need is in the room, organized and ready for me to play!!!  *sigh* Everyone should be able to have a craft room....

So, that's where we live :)  Now, to leave you with a few pictures of the boys.  We've had a fun time going up to Denver to the Natural History Museum (minus Michael's breakdown when he thought the dinosaur skeletons were going to eat him...) and visiting Nana and Grandpa over Memorial Day. As one of Caleb's favorite shirt's says, "Colorado makes me happy".  We concur :)

Kind of embarassed that I haven't blogged since August, and we didn't get to Christmas cards this year.... so, here's a little catch up with fam update.  We'll take each person in the family so you can see them and get the update!

Mr. Mo!

*I can't believe it, but he'll be one on SUNDAY!

*Cut 5 teeth last month and is currently cutting 3 more.  He's been a little cranky.

*Is cruising around like crazy.  He doesn't stand up by himself or walk yet... but will someday.

*He's a MASSIVE kid... or large of stature, as I like to think.  Tall and BUILT.

*Love his goofy little face!

The Bubs

* Turned THREE in November!

*Is now a Sunbeam and it's a good thing I got released from being in the Primary Presidency.  I had to do one Sharing Time while he was in there, and it was a nightmare... he couldn't sit in his seat to save his life!

*Can sing We Three Kings and Silent Night like nobody's business.... he's so awesome!

*LOVES cars and dinosaurs.

*Keeps me (and himself) constantly entertained with the silly things he says.

*Adores his brother (sometimes too much)

*Moved Mo into his room to "protect" him at night-- he's scared to sleep by himself.

*He is a total goofball and I adore him!!

My Man

*Got called to be the 11 year old Scout leader

*Realized he had nothing to camp with and had to borrow EVERYTHING to go on his first camp out

*Still rocking his job as a PA

*Got sick 3 times in the last 3 months... and needs to build his immunity system :)

*Turned 29!!!!!  Only one more year in his twenties!!!  Oh, man, SO old!

*Trying every day to keep me happy (that is a HARD thing to do!)

Me

*Got released from Primary and am now the 12 year old Sunday School teacher

*Enrolled in an online class at BYU to work towards renewing my teaching license (it's keeping me very busy)

*Trying to keep 2 crazy little boys entertained when we're stuck at home... with out a car... it's a delight.

Our BYU Football Player

Big day in the Waite house today!  Our sweet little Caleb got his helmet today!  He was diagnosed with plagiocephaly (an asymmetrical head) 2 months ago and we're FINALLY getting things rolling.  Today's the day I've been dreading for weeks (I've heard HORROR stories of kids not adjusting very well)-- but I should have known better.  Can you get a more angelic child than this kid?  He only had to wear the helmet for 3 hours today, but did we hear a peep from him??  Nope.  He took it like a champ and is still as happy as a clam.... just more accessorized :)  Here's our documentation from the momentous occasion!

So, there you have it.  We sure love this kid.  I cringe to think about how things would have been different if it had been Michael that needed to get the helmet-- this would have been a MUCH different blog post.  So, we're thanking our lucky stars and are SO grateful to have such a chill, wonderful kid!!

The Poo Poo Party!



 I know, I know... with a title like this, how can you NOT read it?  Life has been pretty exciting here in the Waite household the past couple of weeks.  We have entered the world of POTTY TRAINING!!  Words that used to bring terror to my soul have actually turned out a lot better than I expected.  But before we get to the Poo Poo Party... here are some cute pics from the past couple of weeks:

Daddy reading to the boys-- you can tell Mo was totally into the book :)  Oh!  6 month stats: 20.2 lbs (90%) and 29 3/4 inches (WAY off the charts!)  Caleb is the same size as Michael was at 9 months.  He is one tall kid-- basketball scholarship, anyone??

This was Michael's "church" outift last week.  I was getting ready for church and he came in dressed like this and said, "Ok, Mama, I'm ready to go to church!!"  My favorite part is the sweat bands used as socks.  We sure know what dressing in your Sunday Best means :)

One last shot... he makes me laugh... so hard.

So-- the poo poo party.  Potty training had been going well, except for one thing.  Going poo poo in the potty.  Michael was TERRIFIED for some reason to go, even on his Elmo potty.  So, to give him some incentive, we told him he could get a special present each time he went poo poo on the potty.  Well, that plan TOTALLY backfired on us when he started to poop SIX times a day.  The dang kid figured out that if he just went in tiny amounts several times a day, he could get more presents!  So, we had to re-do said incentive and said that he could have a huge party after he filled up a sticker chart.  Since it was a party for going poo poo, we decided everything had to be brown.  He wanted brown balloons, brown cookies, brown cupcakes, and brown ice cream.  Deal.  So, in record time he filled in his sticker chart and yesterday we had his poo poo party!

Being the genius I am, when I was in the store, I saw these Winnie-the- POOh hats and thought it would be hysetrical to even be wearing "Pooh" on our heads.  Haha.  I would like to point out that most of the planning for this party came from Brett.  It's been the highlight of being a father for him-- planning a party all about poop.  Oh, boys...
